Tesla Electric Car
The Tesla Electric Car is the fastest, coolest all Electric Car made by the International Tesla Electric Company. It combines all the Advantages of Electric Cars in one great Electric Vehicle.
Being German I believe to have a taste for great cars and am not easily impressed.
But what I see and read about the Tesla this is really a fantastic sports vehicle.
What is so interesting – next to the impressive features, I will come to that – about the Tesla is that it a real Silicon Valley innovation.
Elon Musk, the former head behind paypal, is the Co-founder, CEO and Chairman Tesla. He and other internet celebrities open the doors for the project to succeed.
After founding paypal and selling for over USD one billion to ebay, than creating the SpaceX contest he now establishes a full electric ultra sporty car…the Tesla.
So in 2003 Tesla Motors was founded by
a group of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers who set out to prove that electric vehicles could be awesome.
Delivery began in 2008 and by 2010 more than 1000 Tesla in 25 countries are driven racy and emission free on the highways.
The International Tesla Electric Company has its headquarters in Palo Alto, California and about 650 employees.
The company prides itself in a Silicon valley approach, being innovative where no solution was believed possible.
Reminds me of Apple Inc.
If we really look at it, the new Electric Cars are all but new. Our great-grandfathers could buy better systems and miles per charge than some of the actual models can provide.
But the Tesla is unique. 60 mph under 4 seconds and nearly 250 miles per charge. That really is extraordinary.
The base price is around $110.000 and so within the price range of high end sports cars.
And another parallel to Silicon Valley: The batteries (Energy Storage System or ESS) is very similar – though much more powerful – to standard Lithium Ion cells in your laptop.
A full recharge only lasts about 3.5 hours and can be done with every normal power plug .
So yes, a breathtaking car and bringing Apple style Silicon Valley innovation to a highway near you.
What do you think about the Tesla?
